July 16 - 18: Yosemite National Park - Sequoias Grove

On July 16th we left Las Vaga around 12:30, so we were off to a late start. We drove 450 miles to Yosemite National Park. We arrived around 9:00 pm and set up camp in the dark.
July 17th: The Largest Sequoias Trees below, Giant Grizzly, is over 1000 years old and is 200 feet tall. The fallen, cut tree that the kids are standing next to has over 1000 rings!
Our Yosemite camp site in Wawona is below, as well. We were located on a really nice river/stream that we were able to swim in and we slept to the sound of. Our campsite also came with a large medal "bear box" where our food and any other perfumed items (shampoo, etc.) are to be stored in. For all the hype about bears, none were sighted. Yosemite was the 1st camp site we were allowed to have camp fires in. We really enjoyed cooking and making s'mores over the campfire.
