July 3: Mississippi River Ferry

Jule 3: We started the day by leaving Rip and Ruth's home around 7:30 am. We took ~8 car ferry across the Mississippi River. We saw some birds fishing along the banks. After the crossed the river, we drove through Missouri, Kansas and just into Colorado. We drove 700 miles today!! We saw a lot of LARGE farms which produced corn, soy, wheat, as well as large tracks of grazing cattle and horses. We caught some huge combines at work as they harvested large tracks of wheat.
