Drew got up early, 6:45am, to go weight lifting with Helen at her club. Foster headed down valley to his business and very kindly took my car and trailer in to have the oil changed and the trailer tires checked. Laura spent some time on the internet researching places that the San Fran folks she met on the 4th told her about. Around 11:30, we all head off the Wood Creek Tavern for lunch. We biked about seven miles downhill (down valley) to the tavern, had a great lunch and huffed and puffed our way back to Aspen. Once home we took a dip in the Koch pond. We had a yummy dinner of ribs. At dusk, Helen spotted a bear in her back yard, which is very common for her, but thrilling to us, New Englanders. The bear heading on before we could see it, so we walk down Roaring Fork Road and caught up to it as it was heading out from a neighbors yard. We also saw a coyote, but both took off once they saw us.
